While we are directly supporting part-time artists, we use the phrase “Quit Your Day Job” somewhat ironically. The reality is that it is astronomically difficult for artists to rely on just one revenue stream these days, even though we all want to quit. We want to lean into the cheekiness of our name as a social critique, entitling our pop-up, RAT RACE. 

RAT RACE is a pop-up gallery with a program of experiential events that highlight absurdity in art as well as our everyday life. In some ways we’ve normalized absurdity, in other ways we’re hypersensitive to diversity and change. Our goal is to bring wackiness and radical expression back to San Francisco, in a fun, light-hearted and accessible way.
